Mmm...I haven't been able to practice the violin lately. I've gone through like five projects, and then another five projects spring up after I finish those, and many of them were group projects where one or more of the group does little to no work. Good grief! Cut me some slack! I especially hate it when these classes make design and creativity worth a lot of points when it doesn't contribute to the learning process at all. :/ My eyes have been bloodshot this whole week from eyestrain since I've been staring at the computer for hours everyday this month working on projects and presentations and papers with a chunk of calc homework on the side (I still haven't caught up in that class) all the while sleeping for a little more than four hours each night.

I draw more than I play the violin to de-stress because I'm already at a desk with scrap paper strewn about and, hey, I have my tablet here, too. So while I'm working on some presentation or researching, I'll doodle when I get too tired, or write if I don't feel like drawing. But only for a bit. The violin, on the other hand, is more tiring since it's a lot more physical, my violin's fairly heavy, and bowing is still difficult for me. Since my homework tends to take me quite a while, by the time I give myself a break, the majority of my family's asleep, so playing would be rude. My neighbors' dogs also have a tendency to bark at me when I play, so it'd bother the neighbors, too. Yeah, the walls here are pretty darn thin.

So I picked it up just now on a day where I actually got home before dark. It's really depressing how much has slipped away. My bowing is totally off and my fingering's really sloppy. My violin's out of tune, too, so this isn't helping me in my aural training (I-I still can't tune my violin. FOR SHAME). And, yes, those dogs were indeed yapping their heads off. I convinced my parents to give me these classes, so I feel bad that I'm falling behind instead of moving forward. It's a waste of their money and I also don't want to waste my instructor's time either. But my parents are also paying tuition for my high school education, and since it's a parochial school, it's pretty darn expensive, so I can't fall behind on school work.

Geez. Priorities, priorities, which one of you falls in front?

The fruits of my procrastination. D| Images within. )

Aaah, I need to get my calc homework up to speed!
...
Also choirs are awesome.
keyk: (Okay.)
Whatever the heck calc is doing right now is beyond me. Our teacher made us watch this strange video with crazy Newton and Leibniz dramatizations and their hairy European Renaissance era wigs and a narrator who speaks with this freaky echo-y ethereal voice whenever she tries to explain functions and antiderivatives and integrals and whatnot complete with lightning bolts and retro computer beeping noises that remind of me Space Invaders or something.

This class. I. WELL AT LEAST THE PROCEDURES ARE SIMPLE ENOUGH. For now. But I never go very far until I understand the concept better.

Our puny school library is pretty bad. The books on the shelves I went through are either falling apart, super childish, badly formatted, or simply not useful. The literature section is probably better, but for research, the place sucks, at least in giving information about the Middle Ages. Books on more modern wars have taken up most of the shelves, so I guess that's what our library is more geared towards, which makes sense, since most assigned papers are related to that era. Why must my creative projects require so much research! If only I could spend time on those instead of my school projects, aha, haha, ha, ha. Before that I was looking up trolleybuses for my other story. |D;; Not sure the tangled mess of wires overhead'll work well, but it might! And the only reason I was in the library in the first place was because I was supposed to meet a group partner there who didn't show up! Even though she's the one who suggested meeting there in the first place. LOL.

This is the part no one cares about )I decided to get into another fandom for some kind of relief. Shion no Ou.

lol tangent )

So, Shion no Ou!...The main character is so adorable and I even like sir crossdresser! I haven't been able to understand much of the shougi, aka Japanese chess, mumbo jumbo(although I'd like to look into it when I have the time), but I do enjoy the atmosphere the games have. It doesn't reek of manliness and overdone coolness, but it is exciting! The art is nothing to write home about, but the handful of characters I find endearing is enough to keep me interested and not mind the art. When I read these kinds of series, it's always cool to see how they delve into money and how being a pro player will affect their futures and stuff, like choosing not to go to college and such The story also has a mystery aspect to it, which...for some reason isn't the main reason why I like the series, but it does add to the story. To me, it only makes the MC that much more adorable. ^^; It's a lovely series so far (I wish more English chapters were out, haha ;;), and am going to try out the anime. |D

I miss playing chess and cards and go and checkers with other people. I suck horribly, but it didn't make it any less fun. My last finished game was done via AIM, and I was working on an MS paint grid and the other on an actual board, haha! I actually won that one, which almost never happens...it was really really fun. I...actually want to sit in on a chess tournament one day. D|

...I seriously need to work. I'm sorry for posting and neglecting. Bad habit, bad habit.

Ugh. Well, I'm still swamped with homework this weekend, runoff from the hell of the school week. It's past 12:00 AM here, and since I won't be online much tomorrow (gotta hang with people and animals who both avoid me because of my awkward aura or something), I'd better put this here now.

Do beware.
Happy Valentine's Day/SAD! )
I don't celebrate Valentine's Day and neither does my family really. XD; But for those who do, I hope you can enjoy it, and for the people who dread it, I hope it won't be so much dreadful as you think. :) It's just another day, labeled or not!

I'VE TYPED UP THE EQUIVALENT OF NINE PAGES IN THE SPAN OF TWO DAYS. Those twelve page essays don't look so intimidating anymore! 8D;

Ok, yeah, she did most of her part (like...one page's worth), but I had to take the really large section she was supposed to help me with on my own. Hence the nine pages in two days (lol go me...). orz; I still can't bring myself to get angry at people even when they let me down. I'm happy she ended up doing most of what she said she would, even if it was at night before the day it was due. :/ The quality difference between our parts is amazing, but it wasn't supposed to go beyond ten pages, so I guess I'm all right. I'm happy she didn't make me do all the work.

I've got tons of other homework to do and a presentation tomorrow though. Ugh. Make it stop. T_T;
keyk: (What.)
Yesterday was fun, schedule crisis aside!
Today was not. At all. Why do I suck at people. And animals, too, 'pparently.
Getting sick is fun, especially when you have to sing for a school Mass the day after. And said singing eats into 50% of the time I have allotted for homework!

Waaaay, waaaay, WAAAAAAY behind schedule. THANKS A LOT LIFE!
This week will be unbelievably pleasant.
keyk: (Baah.)
I just realized how busy I am these next few weeks. All of a sudden it went WHOOMP!! HEY! CHECK OUT THEM DUE DATES! SEE HOW CLOSELY STRUNG TOGETHER THEY ARE? 8DDD I mean. Talk about a butt-load of projects! My weekends also look nonexistent at this point, erp. ._.; So, uh, I'm going to have messages pile up--yes, again--and I'll reply to them when I get the chance, which isn't anytime soon, I'm afraid. DX

In the meantime I'll try to stop getting distracted. orz; I oughta sleep now to preserve my energy to work work work tomorrow! Thank god calculus is not eating my brains out right now. Spares me a good two hours of frustration. Next lesson might though. Knock on wood. D|

Y'know, I used to be pretty good at keeping up to date with my online stuff, but nowadays, I ain't!
keyk: (What.)
THIS SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION IS EIGHTEEN FRIDGIN' PAGES LONG. AND CAN'T BE DONE ONLINE.
I HATE THIS CRAP.
I regret doing this already. :/ I like how it says it was sent January 11 and only came a week before its due date. And I have an essay to write. So much paper and ink going to waste... Some of the pages say "left blank intentionally," but they stress that I need to send ALL components of the stupid thing. What happened to going green?! DD: I don't think I can staple this application together. :/ And it's due Friday. And I need to make sure my teachers send in their recommendations for this thing. What. The. HECK.
keyk: (omg)
non-spoilerific WaqWaq rant! )
I promised my teacher that I'd do a JFK portrait by the end of semester break.
IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. OTL; I did rough draft versions though, so if he asks, I guess I'll have proof that I'm not dilly-dallying completely? My only excuse is that I wasn't in the mood, which...doesn't work, I'm sure. Ooh, I like how much more work these colleges are making me do. D| Good grief.

...Did it use to rain this often in CA?
And tornado warnings? Well that's certainly not the norm.
D8
keyk: (W-well...)
I did clean out my messages, I'm pretty sure. Whew.
I drew more things today. *sigh* I wish it wasn't such a time consuming hobby, or, I wish everything else wasn't so time consuming. Also, the CSS profile is a pain to do. So much paperwork to fetch... Can't wait to do the FAFSA.

The WIP is still moving, but changes weren't significant enough for me to make another post about it. :o

I just got back from the dentist. Apparently one of my wisdom teeth is growing SIDEWAYS, perpendicular to the other. UH. The other one is growing in some weird angle, too, but....kind of upward from my understanding? Haha, dudes. My genes SUUUUCCCKKKK.

So I'll be getting my wisdom teeth removed fairly soon. Fun times!

I WILL get to replying. Sorry. With these parties somehow hitting me in the face, I haven't been able to get things done when I want to. Yet I still manage to find ways to waste my time nonetheless. I-I guess it is kind of hypocritical of me, eep.

WIP within )

Tomorrow (today, technically), I'll try to get to replies. Then when my parents are available, get my college stuff done, and work on the president pic I owe my social studies teacher. And buy an English book, whoops.
keyk: (W-well...)
I'M SORRY.

I haven't been here in awhile (over a week I consider a while. so.) and my backlog of stuff I need to reply to is like...over 50 by now. FFFFF.

But, uh, after this week, I'll be working on lots of things! That includes REPLYING and stuff. I've been horribly bad at that, and, geez, I feel really bad about it! It's semester break after finals, so after I finish up the last bits of college apps and financial aid, I'll get to it. Hopefully CF will see the daylight during that time, too, or at least make more progress!

See, this week is the week of the dreaded, dreaded FINALS, so I'm going to be busy with that. Right now I'm investing almost all of my time to calc, and last minute studying (and starting notes for one HAHA) for the others. Except that econ is on the same day as calc...hrrrm. Well. That's how it is! Most important semester for colleges, ahahaha, oh, stuff it. Apathy and senioritis has had their grasp on me for the past four years ANYWAY.

Last night I had this weird dream where Specter was dressed up as Tai and mutilating Izzy and then Professor Oak was about to come to the rescue, until I noticed plants were growing out of my legs, to which my sister then told me was a normal occurrence. What.

...
Here's something cool to make up for my wasting your time:

TECHNO CHOIR.

I have a nasty problem in a nasty place, and it is gross. Gross enough that I won't elaborate even though I usually do. For all I know it's a spider/bug bite. It sure acts like one. But. Dude. Why there?

It is painful and impairs my ability to walk properly. It can't avoid getting irritated though so I really don't know what to do about it. I've tried painful solution A. It didn't work. Pain from painful solution A is still ongoing. Hnnngggg.

Ten times more painful solution B is...still under consideration. It will kind of be like self surgery by that point.
...
Way to bring in the New Year!

Goals:
Get better at calculus and math in general
Get better at drawing
Get CF DOWN already!
Keep working on future games
Keep reading more books
Become a better writer so as to survive my future two English classes and...to write fun things
Not die (this is a given)
BE HAPPIER. FRIG.
Be better at socializing

I am an 'in pain' sack. )
keyk: (Okay.)
It's not festive at all. Unless a fat cat symbolizes something. D|
Behold! )

Hope your holidays are fun, but if not, may light and teddy bears and comets not crashing into earth and all things happy happy fill your days!

While I'm at it, welcome and greetings, people from the PL comm! :D;;

Preview of soon-to-be Centrifugal Force pages--there be an image here )
I did the second page first, whoops. That's why it looks more detailed than the supposed first page. The first page is boring so I didn't feel like it. ^^; Anyway, I wanted to put CF up before the next year comes in, but I doubt I will what with how much school work I still need to get done. But here's a start! Do you like how I spelled "sight"? D8

The MC Zarenth won't show up until the next page. Instead you get some Kai and Dale. I know I made a good chunk of pages before, but it was such a bad beginning, I redid it. orz; I'll start it off better this time--promise--but the first chunk'll be digital to save paper, and hey, it's an experimental comic. I still need a logo for this. TDT;;

This story's been seven (or was it six?) years in the making, and it's been changing main characters all the time. Many of the characters used to be main characters. The plot and most of the cast is down, and there'll be no more MC changes, so I think I can start. Anyway, hope I can get it out soon!

OMAAGAAAH!
Best zombies ever!
...or pure Fujiryu bias.

Either way works.
I believe in you, studio! Yay voice clips and wiggling manga art!
keyk: (hehe)
Look at me fail at writing an essay on how I will positively impact the WORLD by going to this ONE COLLEGE. Especially since my mom insists I get help from my siblings. But she doesn't understand I find that degrading, so she is not at fault. Besides, I already did. They're not that helpful. Still. I am going to keep musing.

Now I haven't played all of the PL games, or read all of the Holmes or Lupin or even Kaito stories or played Umineko (and no one knows how it'll end) or read all of its manga, my understanding of P4 and Devil Summoner is based entirely on the few chunks I saw while my sister was playing, I only vaguely know the second Trace Memory's plot, we are all waiting for Hotel Dusk 2, I have only read Suiri no Kizuna of Spiral, had a cursory glance over Knox's and people's opinions and another set of rules as to what mysteries should be, so I am obviously missing a lot of info here.

But We're going to rant and act like We know things.
The point:
It looks like I really like BAD mysteries. I'm serious, too.

SPOILER WARNING: Skip this paragraph if you want to start off with a clean slate before jumping into the world of Layton. This paragraph doesn't have any plot spoilers. This is a vague outline of how I see the Layton games, which could give away what one would expect from the game.

SPOILER WARNING: There are Sherlock Holmes spoilers here. But I don't say which story, so read at your own risk.

SPOILER WARNING: This time Magic Kaito and some of his appearances in the Conan manga/anime, and Arsene Lupin, whom he was based on. These are mostly hints as to how they've pulled off their heists, and again, no telling which story is which.

SPOILER WARNING: Short Spiral Suiri no Kizuna dump here. No spoilers, just pointing out the BAD MYSTERY aspects of it.

SPOILER WARNING: Does this end? Anyway, here we go to the Ace Attorney games, Trace Memory, touch on Hotel Dusk, P4 and the newer Devil Summoners and some Umineko! All four. No big spoilers since I don't say which game or which case (for AA) or who does it but just certain techniques that the game employs.

...this is too disorganized and windbaggy to be called an essay, and too long to hold anyone's attention the whole way, I'd wager. I wrote this mainly because I am crossing over many fandoms (not books, unfortunately, though they'll help) into a biig mystery mashup to ensure plenty of chaos and logic NOT applying while applying at the same time! So it gets me rolling and thinking about it. It really will be chaotic, especially since these bad mysteries each have different rules I'll have to follow. In addition to that, the 1930s AU I'm still working on is a mystery (also a bad mystery according to those rules--I agree with some not all, in case you were wondering), but the player is expected to take the clues and figure things out. Aaaand beat people up in the way, and maybe puzzles, if it isn't too overstuffed by then. It'll be fun.

Longest line of tags I've ever seen.

Now, since this IS for the school newspaper, I'd rather that no one edit these or use them elsewhere, etc. etc.

Apparently I'm being made to do more work than my sis did. D8
