What started as a quick quickie turned into a mass amount of quickies and took me about an hour.

So many characterrss )

I was going to color it since it was supposed to be one or two characters, but I got carried away. And now it's 3:30 AM. I have class tomorrow.

D'oh!

Mildly scary (your mileage may vary) pic in here )

So while I am still in pain, I am doing my best to GET THIS OUT OF MY SYSTEM. So thank you, Mr. Generic-looking-character. Salute!

And why do documentaries talk about centrifugal force like it's a legitimate force? They're looking for centripetal! Centripetal! D| Ok, off to attempt to sleep.

ToI is a lot of fun! It sure moves really fast though, and I keep messing up the friendship stuff, but OH WELL. I'm still not used to playing one player Tales, but it hasn't been TOO horrible yet. I do miss having a much more expansive list for helping keep the AIs in check. I'm shocked by how loaded I am so early in the game though! Fifteen life bottles already? Jeepers! I really like the characters so far~! What's also exciting is Layton 3 is coming out soon! Ahhh, I can't wait! I'm also planning on waking up early to watch Pokemon again tomorrow. And for some reason Fire Emblem really likes coughing out remakes. I...kinda want a new one. :(

Oh, and before my computer crashed on me last night in the middle of a doodle, I'd doodled more things beforehand! I tried to do something fancier but it just wasn't coming, so just have a couple of character shots. I lost one quickie to a crash--no biggie! It's not as tragic as some...other times have...been.

LUCY! I'M HOOOOMMMEEEE!!! )

Finished reading A Streetcar Named Desire before the bad acting in class--not that I can do better, but my brain sure can--ruined it was amazing. Naturally, I laughed at the STELLAAAAAAAAAHHHHH part for, well, obvious reasons. I'll analyze it while my classmates read it aloud in class and hopefully rereading it'll prove certain conclusions I drew from it. I can't read to save my life and I always seem to be totally off analyzing, so, er, baby steps? This is the first book I liked from this class!

I've been too tired to do much of anything after school, so lately I've become a library regular flippin' through tales by H.C. Andersen! Hans's namesake canonically. I don't like all of them, but I'm trying delve into Hans's mindset since he adores children's literature. God keeps invading and preaching and making miracles, which is why Dusk doesn't like Andersen, but Hans enjoys the simplicity and appreciates all the gaps left for the children to fill. I did enjoy "The Shadow" a ton, which sounded so different compared to the others I read.

I made Hans like "The Steadfast Tin Soldier," but unfortunately I didn't like it as much as he. Now that I've actually read it instead of reading summaries online (laaame), Hans totally would like this story. He's a lonely reclusive character that holes himself up with his books and manages to gain a crush (I caved and made it canonical--why yes, I can like romance) and gets a roommate forced on him to the dismay of both parties and adjusting to it all is just too difficult for him. Of course he'd love reading about a bunch of animate toys. Hans probably likes all the God-filled ones, too, but I don't plan on diving into that in CF. I made Violette like Pinocchio, so once I felt I had read enough Andersen for the day, I picked it up!

Right now (I only nicked the book), Pinocchio's hard to compare to Violette. I looked up certain similarities once upon a time, but I can't remember them. I'll keep reading, and maybe they'll hit me. It's such a painful book to read though! Pino's such a rascal and Gepetto's too easily persuaded. I was appalled by the Cricket's untimely demise. Is it sad that this horrified me more than anything I read of Andersen's? 'Cause it did. For now, I'll see if any situations can be drawn parallel to what Violette goes through or manage to find some strong enough tie somewhere.

I neglected reading the assigned Soldier's Heart in favor of fiction. Samet writes wonderfully, but I have yet to develop patience enough to read fifty pages of a sophisticated essay in one go. Children's lit has that emptiness to it that fascinates me. Usually I'm not in the mood for fairy tales and created Hans as an outlet for my fascination of them, but now I can say I do like the genre. Maybe it's just my moods, I don't know. I just need a break from all of this adult stuff. I'm not well adapted to the world of today. Just how much talent is necessary?

Oh, oh. I should add that I read all of the available scans of Pokemon Special in the span of a week. I'm so cool. :>;; It has the hottest characters ever shutup.

Mm, y'know, since everyone in the world seems to be just antsy waiting for the BIG ONE to hit, I was wondering how on earth my fish would survive. Aside from the fish himself, the glass, the water, the electric outlets the aquarium needs would all cause big problems should a large earthquake hit. Dangers aside, I doubt I could convince my parents to spend even more money and time on the fish that they themselves don't really want anymore. >->; Gosh, one of these days, I'm going to make some money and use it for useful things. I also need to become very hardware savvy one day. Hopefully all before things go terribly awry.

Because when those emo days decide to smack me like a wave on the face! I! draw!...FACES!!! 8D
A couple of faces! )
I don't like my self-defeatist attitude toward everything. It's so annoying, BUT I CAN'T SEEM TO EVER GET OVER ITTTT AAAGGH. ...So yep. :|b

So after listening to myself for awhile, I realized just how horrible it was. .__.; There's more than a few funky chords, lemme tell ya. Which means I will try again...and actually try to compose something beforehand! And maybe warm up and stand up and actually care about my pitch....I wish Audacity had a built in metronome though. D:

SO.
HAVE SOMETHING LESS EMBARRASSING.
Photobucket
No, it's not an animation. I'm working on CF though, promise. >:( And I'm going to release it the same time my sis releases Broken in Time since they're set in the same world! Can you tell what panel this is? :Db Kai and Dale, derp.
keyk: (W-well...)
Ugh. I didn't do so great on that calc quiz, but that's not too surprising. If only I had more time to thoroughly check my work. And if only she didn't pull off so many points for simple arithmetic errors. It's ok though! I got lots of Ds last semester and magically pulled out a B+ by the end, and this time I actually have As to cushion me, so I'll be ok! >:( I'll just...try to do better...next time. >>;; I have calc homework today even though I just had a quiz today, and I have no idea how to do it. DX

During the school newspaper meeting, I was typing up a chunk of CF. I wasn't slacking off or anything, it's just I'm the cartoonist, not one of the writers, so I only get told a few things, then I'm done for the day. But someone noticed that I was typing. And then she was all LEMME READ!!! DD8 And I was all AAAAAGH NOOOO. DDD'8 But she got me to let her read it. AND explain the plot. T__T;; Good grief, that was scary and embarrassing, and I still feel a bit icky from it. I hadn't even proofread it yet! Ahh, well, what's done is done. And speaking of CF...
Falling back into the CF groove. Image within. )

Also, SHIKI!!! YEEAAAHHH, IT'S NOT DEEN! 8DD I love Shiki for its art, so even while there are a few series from DEEN I like (Shion no Ou, Jigoku Shoujo seasons 1-2), I didn't want them to take another Fujiryu series since in terms of consistency and consistently good looking art...they suck. I liked Le Portrait de Petite Cossette, if I remember correctly...soooo THIS.♥♥ OH YEEAAAH.

Preview of soon-to-be Centrifugal Force pages--there be an image here )
I did the second page first, whoops. That's why it looks more detailed than the supposed first page. The first page is boring so I didn't feel like it. ^^; Anyway, I wanted to put CF up before the next year comes in, but I doubt I will what with how much school work I still need to get done. But here's a start! Do you like how I spelled "sight"? D8

The MC Zarenth won't show up until the next page. Instead you get some Kai and Dale. I know I made a good chunk of pages before, but it was such a bad beginning, I redid it. orz; I'll start it off better this time--promise--but the first chunk'll be digital to save paper, and hey, it's an experimental comic. I still need a logo for this. TDT;;

This story's been seven (or was it six?) years in the making, and it's been changing main characters all the time. Many of the characters used to be main characters. The plot and most of the cast is down, and there'll be no more MC changes, so I think I can start. Anyway, hope I can get it out soon!

Drew something silly today and yesterday!
Colorful yet blandly colored! )
Ahahaha, that is but a chunk of the CF cast. And everyone's hair color is so natural, right? Tell me about it. Hans's and Kai's faces are lopsided, what the heck is a bg, and ffff, the coloring. But it was fun to do! I like drawing emotions on people's faces--I think I like that most about drawing in an anime style: exaggerated emotions. Zarenth looks like an emo ghost. XD;

Busy weeks are approaching and more. :/ If anyone remembers the mystery crossover I considered doing a million years ago, it looks like we'll do it! Just waiting for the third Layton game to come out here and to start reading Umineko!

IT IS SO DIFFICULT TO DO ANYTHING.
YET I DRAW MY BUTT OFF ANYWAY.
THIS IS HOW KEYK WASTES TIME.

It wouldn't be so bad if I actually put in the time and effort to complete something (Rustel is not a WIP, but was meant to be so much more D:), but-but...NGAAAH.

Ngah.
That is the only way to describe it.
I am neglecting SO MUCH right now.
REPLYING FOR EXAMPLE. I am so, so sorry.
keyk: (Okay.)
I've just not been making anything decent lately. :/ So I tried something I haven't done in awhile to prove to myself that I've improved at something. I was supposed to get some head and hair movements in (these frames won't have any of that even though their hair seems to warrant it), but this took more time than expected. XD; Just eye, eyebrow, and mouth movements. Le WIP!
Puny simple animated GIF here. )

Will get to replies at a later date! D: I am so behind on work, gaaaah.
keyk: (AAH!!! MY BRAINZ!!)
And when I should be sleeping, THIS is what I'm up to.

I have to wake up early tomorrow, and it's 1:30 AM.

I'm bright.

Oh-so-very bright.

No, I don't know why this isn't that WIP from a few days ago.

I'm eating a gingerbread man a friend gave me back in December (that's perfectly normal, guys), and I feel really bad eating the head what with it's large grin and all. DDD| I...I'm so bad at eating cute gingerbread men.

MR. GINGERBREAD MAN DON'T DIIIE. B-but wasting food is bad. DD:
WHOA. Dude. DUDES.
A-a-a ONE-MAN ANIMATION (IS THERE A WORD FOR THIS). Last time I saw one of these was with Voices of a Distant Star! And MAN it's just amazing what these people can do--really inspiring.
I.
I have no words for this. But I have several faces.
No wait I do. The guy whose hair likes to stick up like an antenna looks pretty awesome--what, no, I don't have a thing for those creepy mysterious people who smile a lot--SHUT IT.
keyk: (Umm.)
Nothing spectacular--it's a mini art dump with oddly large images! )

Now to tack onto this.
Centrifugal Force character rant. )

Veggie sandwiches are delicious. |DDDb
It's 2:32 AM, and I'm hungry.
I really should be asleep.

I need to play Xenosaga III. Seriously. I forgot just how epic this series is. It's so...DETAILED. Have you SEEN those official books?! And it makes sense! I also realized it used the same concept for lengthening the lives of URTVs as I did for my clones--more telomerase! DNA doesn't get shorter as it continues to replicate because telomerase keeps lengthening telomeres, which are found at the end of our DNA! Essentially, they protect the DNA. Having nice telomeres also helps prevent cancer! Someday, in the future, they will probably implement genes into our genomes that make telomeres longer and telomerase more hefty and such. I guess. Yeaah. Did I take A.P. Bio partially for the sake of story making? Yes. Yes, I did. Did you know that when I first made this story, my main bases for science and plot were Xenosaga and Gunslinger Girl? XDD; Now those two are just there for sensible science help...I'm really glad that my science makes sense. |DD As a kid, I was afraid that my science would be too horrible to make anything decent--and now it's better! Yay.

And, darnit, I'm still hung over how cool Wilhelm is. He's so determined, and deep inside, he's a pretty decent guy, but the way he performs makes him seem like such a jerk. XD;; You can't blame him for being so jaded though. Eee, HE'S SO AWESOME. And he's an enneagram type 5 like me!...except he's on the other end of the spectrum--the, uh, "healthy" side.

That aside, I'm taking the A.P Bio free-response portion of my final tomorrow. The day after that is...the APUSH exam. Ohmanohmanohman, I hope I pass. orz;;; History and politics are so important, and yet I'm so bad at it! So...depressing. >>; Molecular bio? Fine. Concepts concerning macroscopic stuff? Eeeeehnnnggghh... It's just not as interesting, so I find it harder even though there are less concepts to understand. |(

Time to crassshhh.

HEADACHES ARE SO ANNOYING. LEMME WORK YOU BRATTY, UNCOOPERATIVE NETWORK OF NEURONS.

Working is starting to wear out my muses. I want to continue working on my story. But I remembered why I named Hans Hans. It was because his favorite fairytale as he "grew up" (as much as he COULD grow up) was H.C. Andersen's Den Standhaftige Tinsoldat, in its awesome Danish title. His "last name" (back in the story's early stages when they HAD last names) was from E.T.A. Hoffmann's name because he liked his Nußknacker und Mausekönig (in its original German title because it pleases my non-German-understanding ears) and its ballet rendition. Hans is a fairytale kinda kid, especially when it comes to inanimate objects made animate (he also likes the ballet Петрушка, the Oz books, and the book, of course, Le avventure di Pinocchio). He's read and watched all of these (only recordings and dinky library books since he's lived in that facility all of his life) in their original languages since he knows a kagillion languages for the sake of something (zOMG, PLOT *slapped*). His taste in books aren't exactly the same as mine (Andersen's stories are charming, but he's far from being one of my favorite authors). XD; He's read more love stories than I probably ever will, HAHA, so, yes, he does like Romeo and Juliet--I do not. Have I been working on Hans a lot lately? Why, yes, I have been. But work comes first! *punches something*
