So there was this old meme where you draw pics for each story and then write a synopsis. So. Like. That last post? HEY WHY NOT POST SOME SYNOPSES AND UNOFFICIALLY PAIR THE POSTS TOGETHER DERP.

A Story Mistold
A young girl holds an inspirational book about her mother's life as written by her father. And by written, perhaps--just perhaps--we mean fabricated. Was it all merely a rationalization of her mother's schizophrenia? Does her father even believe his words himself? Or maybe the mother was truly an artist, albeit late to bloom, who spent years meandering about until she met her Muse...Muses.

Or perhaps, the lies are the narrator's herself.

Baptism of the Lost
The Savior has done great deeds. He has balanced the power between the two peoples and acts as medium and mediator between the people and the gods--or the Divine Being, depending on who you ask. He dies. And then returns as promised, never to die again, to live amongst the people forever during a period of strife and chaos. Naturally, he has come to save them all from their pain.

Rather, he embarks on a quest to end his life, undo his deeds, become hated not loved. To free himself, he must convince his creators that his existence is detrimental--both to the gods and the people for whose sake he has been sent for.

Of course, few are in favor of this. And what--who--will rein in the inevitable pandemonium that is to come?

Centrifugal Force
Dreams or family?
Duty or friends?
Dubious safety or immediate danger?
Suicide or breaking out?

Even in light of the fact that all are chained to this single decrepit building, towering above the world, trapped in snow--a former prison even--there exists no limit to the number of decisions available to each of the tower's inhabitants. How does one survive in such an environment--trapped, with the threat of death creeping closer with each tick of the clock? How does one survive knowing that the person beside them could very well be the one to kill them all?

With bandaged arms, and torn wrists; his inevitable paralysis--How does Zarenth smile so sincerely in the face of it all?

Does he even care?

False Cycle
The perfect urban life. No war, minimal pollution, advanced academics. That was Kieden's and Sera's home. Was. That was but one country--others were not so fortunate. Those others, you see, strictly separated from all other countries, are trapped with their own ideas, their own land, their own people--there was no giving, no taking. One small country in particular grew increasingly desperate and so brandished their muskets high and ravaged the neighboring prosperous town in search of food, resources......and then technology.

The shadow of the supposedly powerful government looms high above them. Under them, war was disallowed. Yet where was their policing? What happened to their dystopian reign, their lying friendly smiles at every corner? Kieden leaves, alone, staying with a conductor who aids those who move to different countries. A conductor working for the government. Sera leaves, also alone, captured up by a hesitant and chivalric soldier of the invading country. A soldier who has since forgotten the purpose of war, fighting only to survive.

Where do we head from here?

Imagination Fall
Death. Afterlife. Morality. Appearances. Reality.

You can have all the platitudes you want shoveled deep down your esophagus. Sure, it'll help you live--I guess--maybe, depends who you are. But once you die, what'll you do if all of them were just empty-ass lies?

Well, if you're like me, you'll sit on your ass and contemplate. And I did! Along with some other people. What is there to live for? Which is the right way? Setting goals? Well, ok, why set goals? Pleasure? Well, sure, but what makes pleasure so great? Or not worth following, if you're that way? Love? What makes love so great? You sure it isn't a delusion propagated by evolution? All right, so how about living for and by your delusions? Is this a 'genuine' way to live? And what makes living 'genuinely' so important, anyhow?

So how do we go about this? Scientifically? Psychologically? Researching philosophers? Just using whatever sounds sensible to explain things you want to be true? Figuring out morality first, finding reason, refuting reason--

It's endless. Well, I'm dead, I still have a life to live, people whom I've left behind me to fret over and people--like me--to discuss life with. And, assuming our meaning of life transcends biological instinct, Rennia has amassed the perfect group of people just for this. This occurence may or may not be of her conscious design.

Tried Novelties
Technology barred for a time. Then technology in its vengeance destroyed. The lines between people and machine have blurred and humans futilely try to chisel machines out of their ranks. But not all will stand for this. Technology is convenient, technology symbolizes the transcendence of mankind--their power. Many fight to create in spite of danger, fight to revert their world back to the artificial paradise it once was.

The sun burns ferociously. The sky a rusty brown hue. The government practically nonexistent. A degraded society. Rampant crime. And yet certain tales arise...and we can tell them.

With a ruined paradise comes promises--though perhaps empty ones.
Regardless. There stands a chance:
Perhaps we shall witness this world change, for better or for worse.

The Vendor and the Runaway
Ryohei is about to move schools. His uncle has sent him back to Yokohama, confident that he will make his recently deceased parents proud. However, Ryohei is left to find lodging on his own. On the way to Yokohama in the middle of the night, he stops for a drink of water...and is subsequently cursed by a spirit who lives there. If Ryohei does not see one hundred towns in a month, he will be drowned. Unfaltering, and hoping to outwit the spirit, Ryohei climbs to the top of a mountain--only to fall and break some bones. Here, he meets a ceramics vendor, Soraya, also cursed, who has climbed the mountain to do the exact same thing as he. Unfortunately, the venture is ultimately fruitless.

The spirit's motives remain unknown. And for the sake of continuing to live, the pair embark on a search for solutions, delving into their histories and the circumstances and people that brought them together.
