The blind man and the pheasant

keykSo I mentioned a romance short story my sister challenged me to do, yeah? Well, here're some character designs! She also gave me the extra challenge of drawing it in my cartoonier style, so this'll prove to be tons of fun to make! :)
You may notice that the pheasant is a male. And, no, this is not a BL story (maybe I'd give it a whirl if I could think of ideas, but not at the moment). It's just that in fairy tales, birds tend to be the pretty-pretty male birds and not the dull females (discounting, of course, the mother hen and goose jazz). So here's a girl who's been transformed into a pheasant and a wandering vendor (in a school uniform? IDK) who's been cursed to go blind if he doesn't see one hundred cities or towns aalll because he drank from a creepy lake. 8D
Being the smart Alec he is, he decides to go up a mountain and--
Becomes a cripple. Oops.

OF COURSE IT IS.
...and dry humor.
Set in Taisho era Japan (dehehehehe, lulzy). And neither main character is Japanese! Weird, eh? Although they're both Asian. Still, I get to draw Japanese passersby and cute grandmas and such. :O ...I just like the early half of the 1900s.
Oh, oh, and a Chinese version of "Bad Apple!!" Very pretty, and especially great if you prefer more acoustic instruments as opposed to electric guitars and other electric whatchamahoozits!
If I knew if it were Mandarin or Cantonese, I'd tell you, but I don't. :S I'd wager it's Mandarin though. Also setting the atmosphere for this fairytale-esque story, haha! XD
