keyk*has been listening to lots of classical music, and dear gosh those violinists are skilled* I-I think Jascha Heifetz is my new hero. |D; I keep hitting the E or D string whenever I try to play on the A string. Hahaha, kinda pathetic, but trying to break out of the habit! I'm not going on an "GEEZ I SUCK TDT" kinda thing, but more of a "GEEZ MY EARS SPARE THEM"; but I think that's how it is for just about all of my probs. It'll take me a million years to train my ears (I'm only good at comparing notes to make sure I sound right, which is why I play better when my teacher does a duet with me HAHA, but I'm slowly getting better!) I....like and am used to playing by ear, so I really need to work on my sight-reading. D: And counting. My current teacher isn't nitpicky about that for some reason, but it was a definite problem when I played the piano.
The basics of the violin seem easier to me than piano basics. I had so much difficulty playing on both hands even if there was a repetitive pattern on the left hand. Once I go further down the fingerboard of the violin, I'm sure I'll think the piano was easier, but I still hope I'll stick to it. Yeah, I totally didn't do my homework today.
The violin is a very good way to get your arms tired (or that's just me)! Now that my left arm is tired, my right arm can draw!
I'm feeling bad for taking these lessons though. My mom started complaining to me about the economic problem especially since WaMu crashed. Well, sure, she started complaining to me after I threatened to buy a jar of jam that wasn't on sale, but I am able to feel guilty really easily. She seems to only complain to me about the money stuff, too, as if I'm unaware of it. I feel like such a burden and that I'm asking way too much of them. I really wish I had time for a job. I would gladly pay for my own lessons if I could.
