P4 and some thoughts on P3 (no spoilers)
Jun. 21st, 2008 02:39 pmDoing research because I'm bored. It actually looks pretty interesting. The colors don't have as much of a dark atmosphere as P3 did, and as tacky as it looks, I am interested. Why? Mostly because of the murders and mystery aspects of it. AND LOOK DETECTIVES AND POLICE PEOPLE. AND A GUY WITH A POLICEMAN HAT (it actually isn't try nowhere near but shhhh) IN THE PARTY. 8D; Sh-shut up, I LIKE HATS.
I know my sister is interested because of the glasses, so if it does reach here (it prolly will considering how popular P3 got), we'll probably get it. The rain does help make a good dark atmosphere for LET'S HOP INTO THE TV AND FIND MURDERERS day since I liked FULL MOON WOOOOOO DARRK in P3, though. ^^;; I'm hoping character development will be better and that the Social Links system will be better. I got bored having to go out all day with people (my introverted self is showing, onoes) and having to choose options and being unable to direct conversations anywhere. And I really felt annoyed that ALL OF THE GIRLS FALL IN LOVE WITH ME HAHA, onoes, they're going to get jealous. I liked Akinari the most because it took me awhile to figure him out (simple though it was). Atlus says it'll be more realistic, so here's to hoping it won't feel too much like a drag as I thought it was.
Silent protagonist aspect could've been better. Characters call him cool and composed, but he's really what you make him be, and you really can't stick to one personality to make S. Links happy. I actually like the manga version of him lots since he does have some personality (he knows when he goes ooc) despite being silent most of the time. The other characters, I couldn't get TOO into. They do have their great moments though. I favor Ken and Akihiko and the main character out of all of them. I also liked Pharos (I still laugh at the fact that his official name was Phallus XDDDDD;;;) lots. Junpei's all right (Vic did well voicing him, I think) once he gets off of his jerk-y self.Mr. MC makes me laugh when I make him switch personalities at the drop of a hat, and I like his design. As you can see, I didn't get too into the female characters. I wish I could've! Helping people up AND HITTING THEM :DDD is a plus in terms of battle system for me, and the Personae are just interesting in and of themselves. GLASSES AND CARDZ. 8D
I'm really hoping Atlus can improve lots here. I don't dislike P3, but I did get bored somewhere along the line since it felt repetitive (I'm so bad at grinding; not my thing), and seriously, Ryouji could've been developed SO MUCH MORE. Story would've been more interesting that way! Still, Persona 3 has that element of mystery to it that keeps me playing, and I was really into it in the beginning, and fond of making fun of the main character.
P3 was a new starting point for Persona, so there's bound to be flaws, and I'll finish it (I have like 5 floors left in Tartarus, lol), then go to P3FES. Randomly, I really enjoy reading P3's manga for some reason. XDD;;; Atlus, good luck!
YAY MURDER MYSTERIES AND HATS, WHOOO!
