I have this problem where when I feel like I've made a breakthrough in some kind of art,

I
Don't
Stop.

*facepalms*
Be it playing the violin, story making, drawing, style altering, writing even...I...can't stop myself. (HMM, DOESN'T THIS SOUND FAMILIAR.)

So today! I noticed that I have major problems with perspective and understanding depth, and I don't use proper guidelines.

That is. UNTIL NOW.

While perspective still makes my face wrinkle up like an old man's, I do understand depth a bit more! Most people seem to like using round shapes and curvy lines for guides, but me? I'm using polygons. On everything. I'll probably grow into the more curvy smooth style as I improve, but for now, I'm going to love my polygons. Thank you, How to Draw the MARVEL Way, you've saved me muchly. I thought that kind of technique would never work for me, but when I felt that I should try it, it made me very happy. But I never think my men will ever look as manly as yours...or as thick and muscly. My characters will forever lack the muscles and bones they need. Probably.

Of course, it's not as if my depth perception and drawing skills got perfect overnight. I just want to improve really quickly, and do my best so that I will improve really quickly. Although I do get those long lazy streaks, too. The violin is a victim of much of that especially since I can't tune the thing yet (EXCUSE), uy.

But darnit, these spikes always occur when there's a paper or test coming up soon. In this case, it's both. And they're both for APUSH, that class I just can't seem to do well in while everyone else does. And you have no idea how much I wish I could work on that comic of mine. I had a story spike a while ago, and so the story's changed quite a bit. I might have to change and add a few pages (does this mean I have to draw added pages in my older style..?).
*slaps self* Test. Paper. APUSH. HELLOO?

I'd say that's worthy of a pat on the back because you actually made a breakthrough. How come I don't seem to make any breakthroughs in any art whether it be playing the flute, drawing, writing....D: when you make a breakthrough, you're obviously excited that you've entered a new stage and of course you'd want to do more with your new found skill/knowledge. just in case you forget it later on or you simply want to experience the feeling of "hey, i made a breakthrough!"

APUSH? *blinks* What APUSH? *whistles and looks away*

My body would disagree considering how much sleep it ends up lacking after those hours of doing nothing but doodling, writing, etc. etc. Only the right side my brain would want to pat itself. XD
