Since I'm so uninspired by art, I decided to make something based off one of the most boring art style ever. Certainly, the art of the time was exquisite--beautiful; certainly there were artists of note; certainly, it was a movement that forever changed the face of art; and yet, the art of the era fails to woo me in.
Granted, idealized romanticized anything more often than not fails to capture my attention--unless they happen to be intimidating sculptures ogling you from majesties above--THEN classic art is riveting. Yes, the art movement of the Renaissance...
Pft. Naah, I'm just toying with you. I'm no art history freak. I really don't know. The painting's actually a baroque painting, not Renaissance. In general though, art from the Renaissance to the Classicist period is just not to my tastes. Again, minus sculptures of the time, but honestly, I prefer the finely sculpted patterns of the baroque era. Whatever you naysayers. Oh, and dare I say I like modern art? Postmodern art not so much. BLAHBLAHBLAHBLAHGUFFAW.
Back to this piece of work which I've bloated beyond proportion with an out of place overly dramatic introduction--it's nowhere near done even--WELL! It's a WIP (more like my digital workspace actually...) and it is not worth any hype whatsoever. Nonetheless, I'm posting it since I'm using it as an attempt todestresslol get myself drawing again. Such a landmark (not). At least you get to admire their baldness. And nakedness, naughty naughty (no it is not naughty I swear/am sorry but I can't help myself sometimes please excuse my oddities).

I know. I know. Isn't it absolutely positively BORING? I know right? The musician painting to the left, er, to be proper, Orazio Gentileschi's The Lute Player, is the baroque painting mentioned afore. And here we see two unfortunate children--siblings--half--nevermind their actual ages--posing for a portrait, their eyes riveted on a probably-not-so-riveting painter. Well. Supposedly.
No, paintings were not so great and perfect back in the medieval ages, BUT disregarding technicalities, I have not drawn anything proper for some time now, I really don't like these styles, so hey, why not be a masochist and try something I really dislike--no, I'm not expecting you to understand my skewed logic nor this run-on, and yes, I will shut up in a few, just give me that few first.
Still, I'm curious to see what will happen if I attempt the idealized style because I know the result will be a far cry from what the style entails. Why, it sounds like I'm rather determined to finish this, yes? WRONG. Sorry. I'm posting this because I stopped--although I didn't stop because I wanted to quit the experiment, I stopped because I AM TIRED.
Thus, the same applies to this WIP as to any other WIP I've had in the past: More probably, I will drop it, but there is still a chance that I will not. It's all up to my whims and how much time is classifiable as "free time" as well as my energy levels and, again my whims, during such periods.
But my "few", if you were kind enough to give it to me, is not yet over. Because Sherlock 2010 and my quickly dwindling stock of Agatha Christie books are glorious.
And TIME!
